Monk Chant of Resonance Greatly Increases Mantra Duration

Monk Chant of ResonanceMonk Chant of Resonance is a passive skill that unlocks at level 20.

Chant of Resonance increases the duration of the Monk’s Mantras to 7 minutes and gives them 2 Spirit per second while one of their Mantras is active.

As a relatively low level skill it is a viable option for beginning Monks who find that they have trouble generating the Spirit to power their skills.

This passive can also be very useful to supportive Monks who frequently use Mantras to boost their allies.

Without this passive, you would have to re-cast their Mantras every 3 minutes, which would make their party more likely to be caught without a Mantra at a critical moment.

Having a Mantra on for 7 minutes at a time is much safer, and the Monk does not have to re-cast the Mantra as often.

Non-supportive monks can benefit from Chant of Resonance as well. Any Diablo 3 Monk would still end up using Mantras anyway to utilize their Mantra skill slot.

You will not need to cast Mantras as frequently, the Spirit needed to cast theseMantras will be conserved. Even if the Monk does not want to bother with casting Mantras, the extra Spirit generation this passive provides would still be helpful.

Complementary Skills:

The Guardian’s Path - This passive skill increases the monk’s Spirit generation by 25% if they are wielding a two-handed weapon. Two-handed weapons are the choice of monks who prefer to be slower but deal more damage. They tend to generate less Spirit but coupled with Chant of Resonance, this should help resolve this issue.

Exalted Soul - This passive skill increases the monk’s maximum Spirit by 100. This is especially useful for support monks who should never run out of Spirit. Chant of Resonance increases their Spirit generation and Exalted Soul provides an expanded storage for it.
