Monk Transcendence Uses Spirit and Gains you Life in Return!
Monk Transcendence is a passive skill that unlocks at level 16.
Transcendence heals the monk 62 Life for every Spirit spent.
Being a relatively low level passive, beginning Monks who have problems with survivability may want to use this skill. Otherwise, it is still a good skill to enhance survivability for various advanced builds.

Complementary Skills:
Other than using big Spirit spenders, the Diablo 3 Monk who intends to include Transcendence in their build can use it with other survivability enhancing skills. And of course, you should also make sure to have enough Spirit so they actually have something to spend.
Mantra of Healing – Circular Breathing - This Mantra increases the Monk’s Life regeneration by 310 per second for three minutes. Other Mantras are also good choices to enhance survivability, but as far as Life regeneration goes Mantra of Healing is the way to do it.
The Circular Breathing rune also gives the Monk 3 Spirit every second, which translates to more Spirit that can be converted to Life.
Chant of Resonance - This passive skill increases the duration of Mantras by 7 minutes. It also gives 2 Spirit per second while one of their Mantras is active.
This is a good skill to use for any type of Monk because there is little reason to not use Mantras anyway. As for survivability, it is a good idea to always have a Mantra up. The additional 2 Spirit per second that this passive provides will give the Monk more Spirit to spend, which would then be converted to Life by Transcendence.
Exalted Soul - This passive skill increases the Monk’s maximum Spirit by 100. If you intend to spend a lot of Spirit they should make sure they also have the means to generate and enough space to store them. Exalted Soul is a good way to expand the Monk’s Spirit pool for all the extra Spirit.
