Wizard Archon Transcends you into an Even More Powerful Being.
The Wizard Archon skill offers unique shape shifting ability at level 30.
It transforms the player into a powerful being with powerful abilities for 15 seconds in exchange for 25 Arcane Power.
During this state, the Wizard’s resistances and armor is increased by 40%, you are granted unlimited Arcane Power and each killed enemy adds 1 second to the duration.
The cooldown for the skill is 2 minutes but it can be altered with one of the available runes

Runestones:
Arcane Destruction rune can be unlocked at level 36. When the Wizard shape shifts, an explosion erupts, dealing 450% of weapon damage to all surrounding targets within a 15 yards radius.
Teleport is unlocked at level 40. It allows the Archon to teleport once every 10 seconds.
Pure Power is unlocked at level 46. The rune reduced the cooldown of the spell by 20 seconds.
Slow time rune becomes available at level 52. It enables the Diablo 3 Wizard to slow time for a period of 8 seconds while Archon spell is active.
Improved Archon becomes available at level 60. It increases all damage caused by the Archon by 25%.

Flux
The most popular skill in Archon form was the Beam. It worked just like a much more damaging Disintegrate, though it had a shorter range. I don’t know if the skill does critical hits, because I can’t remember ever seeing any when I used it. The beam did do a low of 900 to a high 1300 a second. That was without things being hit by Arcane Torrent or being Frozen by Frost Nova. If they had either debuff on them they died fast.
Eliminator
It only took one encounter with an Archon to know you don’t want to mess with a healthy one solo. One that was at about half health would go down rather fast from a WoTB Barb and a few Hammers. An Archon Wizard really felt like a game changer, but they weren’t unbeatable if you dealt with them quickly, and since the Wizard does not have Teleport in Archon form, they could be avoided as well.
Synergies:

In PVE the cooldown is the bottleneck of the skill. The 2 minute cooldown is not enough to make it useful during extended gameplay sessions but makes a good choice of quick annihilation of big groups.
For PVP, Archon is great when damage bursts are required. Usually, burst can decide the outcome of a match.
Most players use Archon at the beginning of the match to intimidate their opponents and even try to kill one of them the moment the match starts.
