Wizard Mirror Image Summons Clones to the Battlefield for Diversion!
The Wizard Mirror Image spell seems to be a one glove fits all skill. It proves notable value in both PVE and PVP combat.
The spell becomes available at level 25.
When used, Mirror Image conjures 2 copies of the Wizard that remain on the battleground for 7 seconds.
The summoned duplicates have 25% of the caster’s hit points. Even if they cast some of the spells of the Wizard, they do not deal damage. Its cooldown is 15 seconds.

What Flux thought of the skill thanks to Diablowiki:
I didn’t use this one very often during play, since the Wizard was powerful enough to slaughter most attackers without needing the assistance, but the few times I did Mirror Image, against big mobs, it worked marvelously. The mirror doesn’t last for very long, usually dying to the monster onslaught, but it didn’t have to. The Wizard has a number of nice AoE spells, even at low levels, and all the MI had to do was provide a focal point for the Fallen or Dark Cultists to swarm around to turn them into fish in a barrel for Arcane Orbs.
The available runes:
Simulacrum rune is unlockable at level 31. It causes the mirror images to receive 100% of the Wizard’s hit points.
Duplicates rune becomes available at level 37. It summons a total of 5 images that share 25% of the caster’s life leech.
Mocking Demise rune can be used by characters of level 45. It causes mirrors to explode when killed, dealing 45% weapon damage. The explosion has a 50% chance to stun the enemies for 2 seconds.
Extension of Will rune is unlockable at level 51. The mirrors will stay an additional 3 seconds on the battlefield and their hit points are increased by 2%.
Mirror Mimics rune becomes available for characters of level 58. It causes the mirrors to deal 10% of the damage of the Wizard.
The first synergy is caused by the Illusionist passive skill.
When active, the Illusionist caused the cooldown of the skill to be reset when the caster loses more than 15% of his hit points in a single damaging hit.
The second synergy is linked to Critical Mass.
The passive skill cases the cooldown of Mirror Image to be reduced by one second when the Wizard deals a critical hit. This is not a guaranteed effect. It has a random triggering factor.
Combined with these two passives and modified with runes, the skill is present in almost every PVP build.
It is not as popular in PVE combat situations but used against other players causes the Diablo 3 Wizard to gain a tactical advantage.
