Increase your Damage and Critical Hit! Barbarian Battle Rage.
Battle Rage is an active Barbarian skill unlocked at level 22. When used it increases the Barbarian’s damage by 15% and gives a 3% increased probability of landing a critical hit for 30 seconds.
It costs 20 fury to use. Interestingly, there is no cooldown on battle rage, and 20 fury every 30 seconds is not a lot, so it very feasible to keep battle rage’s buff on constantly.
Battle Rage pairs well with Wrath of the Berserker which provides similar buffs (critical hit, attack speed, dodge, movement speed, and damage if the right skill rune is used), making the Barbarian a damage dealing machine.
Battle Rage’s skill rune variations can make it more useful. At level 26, Marauder’s Rage is unlocked which doubles the damage bonus to an impressive 30%.
The second skill rune variation is Ferocity, unlocked at level 31. With ferocity, if battle rage is active and the Barbarian lands a critical hit, battle rage is extended by 2 seconds.
Considering that battle rage already lasts 30 seconds and only costs 20 fury, this is not that useful in most situations.
At level 38, we unlock Swords to Ploughshares. With this skill rune, when battle rage is active and the Barbarian lands a critical hit and the targeted foe dies, they have a 5% increased chance of dropping a health globe.
The next skill rune variation, unlocked at level 46 is Into the Fray. With this skill rune, critical hits generate 15 fury while battle rage is active. This skill rune shines when the Barbarian has a high critical hit probability as it would allow him to generate fury very fast.
Finally at level 54, Bloodshed is unlocked which causes critical hits to deal 20% of the damage dealt to all nearby foes.
Barbarian Battle Rage is a nice buff that increases the Barbarian’s damage output through increased damage and increased probability of critical hits.
Most of its skill rune variations require critical hits, so if the barbarian is wearing equipment that gives a high probability of landing a critical hit, this could be a very effective skill.
