Barbarian Earthquake is 2000% Weapon Destruction!
Earthquake is an active Barbarian skill unlocked at level 19. It costs 50 fury had has a cooldown of 2 minutes.
When used, the barbarian does 2000% (no that is not a typo) weapon damage over 8 seconds to all foes within 18 yards.
The damage type is fire. There is no denying that this is a complete powerhouse move that will be very effective at destroying large mobs.
Barbarian Earthquake live ingame Action!
If the base skill wasn’t exciting enough, the 5 skill rune variations can spice Earthquake up even more. At level 24 we get Giant’s Stride, which causes additional 65% weapon damage to all enemies near the barbarian. This effect lasts the full 8 seconds and stays with the barbarian as he moves.
At level 29 we get Chilling Earth which changes the damage done to cold and also slows the movement of all enemies affected by 80%. This could be a great skill for retreating.
The third skill rune variation is The Mountain’s Call which lowers the cooldown to only 105 seconds (15 seconds less). The skill also no longer requires any fury. It is unlocked at level 39 and could be useful for players looking to use Earthquake more often.
The next skill rune variation, unlocked at level 40, is Aftershocks. This causes the skill to also knock enemies back and deal an extra 65% weapon damage (still as fire).
Finally at level 56 the skill rune variation Path of Fire is unlocked. This causes extra damage 65% weapon damage (as fire) for up to 12 yards in front of the Barbarian.
There is no denying that Barbarian Earthquake is a very powerful skill with its impressive 2000% weapon damage to a huge area (or more with skill rune variations).
It also provides the Barbarian with a nice way to do large elemental damage. Unfortunately it is set back by its long cooldown. If a player can cope with the long cooldown then there is no doubt that Earthquake will find its way into their skill bar.
