Diablo 3 Closed Beta Players get a “Special” Sigil. “One of the Chosen”

Aw to bad for the “open weekenders” their not included. But hey at least you got to try it out before the release right? Closed Diablo 3 beta testers are gifted a nice “One of the Chosen” unique sigil. Gifts from Blizzard? Don’t you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

In celebration of a successful beta test, all players who were invited to participate in the Diablo III closed beta will receive the commemorative Feat of Strength, “One of the Chosen.” For eligible players, this feat will appear automatically in the Feat of Strength list after logging in for the first time as well as unlock a unique sigil that can be used on character banners.

In order to be eligible for “One of the Chosen,” you must have had a Diablo III closed beta license attached to your Battle.net account (it isn’t necessary to have downloaded or logged into the beta itself). Please note that players who participated only in the Open Beta Weekend, but were not invited to the closed beta, will not receive this Feat of Strength.

And.. of course, some not so happy non beta testers…

I was in the closed beta and will be receiving this “feat of strength” and associated sigil, but I really don’t understand the reasoning behind this decision to provide an extra reward for beta participants. I think that this decision further alienates people who weren’t lucky enough to be a part of the beta and sets a strange precedent when it comes to future Blizzard beta tests.

Wow, complete jerk move.It’s something we had no control over and should have no special reward for. Playing the beta was enough reward, and this is simply unfair to everyone who didn’t win that particular lottery.More disturbingly, this sets a precedent for future exclusive in-game rewards that can’t be achieved through normal means “just because”.
