Builds – Demon Hunter Solo/Co-op Inferno Whimsyshire Farm – Critical DPS Farmer

Level Requirement: 59
Build thanks to RG
Inferno Whimsyshire seems like the ultimate challenge in Diablo 3. It is known to be slightly more difficult than Act IV but because of the high end gear that can drop from the pink ponies the secret level became an attractive spot to farm for the players that completed Inferno difficulty.
The only way a Demon Hunter can survive and clear the level fast to make it lucrative for farming, huge DPS is required.
To get DPS as high as possible, a high crit chance is needed. Let take a look at a build we call ”Critical DPS Farmer“. This particular build focuses on multiplying the DPS with the aid of the Sharpshooter passive.
Let’s have a look at the skills used.
Left Mouse Button – Hungering Arrow with the Devouring Arrow rune
Right Mouse Button – Elemental Arrow with the Nether Tentacles rune
…
Action Key 1 – Smoke Screen with the Lingering Fog rune
Action Key 2 – Companion with the Bat Companion rune
Action Key 3 – Preparation with the Invigoration rune
Action Key 4 – Caltrops with the Bait the Trap rune
…
Passive Skill 1: Sharpshooter
Passive Skill 2: Steady Aim
Passive Skill 3: Archery

The Mechanics Of The Build
For this particular setup, Archery and Sharpshooter become the main focus and the ramifications of these passives determine a high DPS.
Critical hit chance is not of concern because of the Sharpshooter skill. Also the passive damage for bows from Archery does not benefit the build in any way. Instead, a two hand crossbow will serve better for the purpose of increasing the DPS by maximizing the Critical Hit Damage.
Sharpshooter handles the concern regarding the chances to land a critical hit. Due to its mechanic, the player will be able to shoot multiple hits that will crit. The Sharpshooter critical bonus is reset one second after the player lands a successful critical hit.
This mechanic enables the player to shoot 3 Elemental Arrows and 4 Hungering Arrows that will hit the target within the one second time frame and all of them should crit if they hit the target. With higher attack speeds, it is possible to land 4 Elemental arrows in one second.
Once the effect of the Sharpshooter passive is reset, the player will need to complement his base crit hit chance to reach 100% faster. This can be done with Caltrops and the Bait the Trap rune which add a 10% crit chance as long the Demon Hunter stands in the area of effect.
Preparation should be used just before Smoke Screen to save 10 Discipline. This way, Smoke Screen can be used more often for critical situations. For Hatred, the Bat Companion should be enough to generate a steady amount of regen.
Elemental Arrow will consume significant amounts of Hatred when used making the Bat the only viable choice.
The Steady Aim passive is placed in the build only for the damage bonus. However, Night Stalker can be used for an increased survival build that will enable the use of Smoke Screen more often.
To make it work, the ideal stats will focus on high critical hit damage, increased attack speed and a high critical hit chance.
