Builds – Inferno Tank Barbarian

Towards the end of the Hell difficulty we can see that the Barbarian is no longer the brutal machine that can deal with swarms of monsters with his two hand weapon.
A change of tactics is required in order to survive the chaos brought by the Inferno Difficulty. We will need to equip a shield and approach the game from a tanking perspective. Survivability is critical otherwise, even normal monsters will send your Diablo 3 Barbarian back to the checkpoint.
Let’s begin by having a look at the skills and runes.

Action Key 2 – Revenge with the Provocation rune
Action Key 3 – War Cry with the Impunity rune

The passives we will be using will not offer any synergies for the active skills.
Instead we will use some passive skills to stack up armor and resistances.
1st Nerves of Steel based on the available HP.
2nd Superstition for the monstrous 20% resist to all non-physical forms of damage.
3rd Tough as Nails for increased armor with damage back as thorns.

The gear will be oriented towards strength and vitality. Strength increases damage and armor and brings a great contribution to the mitigation abilities of your character while vitality offers an increase HP pool to absorb as many hits as possible without dyeing.
Since this is a solo build, we will go for the enchantress follower. She will be using Charm, Armor, Disorient and Mass Control. Her abilities will greatly improve survivability and defensive capabilities.
With this build, the Barbarian is no longer a DPS machine but a survival expert and truth be told Inferno is all about staying alive and farming endgame items. With the aid of Grim Harvest, the loot drops will increase greatly in quality and it should be used mainly for Elite and Legendary monsters
