Builds – Wizard Co-op/Solo Leveling/Farming Hell – Frost Kiter

Lets have a look at a build we call “Frost Kiter” for Wizards. Ever since the Wizard got nerfed in on May 25th, Critical Mass is no longer a viable solution for a kiting build. Here we have a great build made to Farm lasts acts of Hell and survive Inferno.
Let’s begin by looking at the skill selection:
Left Mouse Button – Magic Missile with the Seeker rune
Right Mouse Button – Blizzard with the Snowbound rune
Action Key 1 – Diamond Skin with the Crystal Shell rune
Action Key 2 – Hydra with the Venom Hydra rune
Action Key 3 – Magic Weapon with the Force Weapon rune or Teleport with Worm Hole rune
Action Key 4 – Energy Armor with the Force Armor rune
Passive Skill 1: Illusionist (only if Teleport is used for Action Key 3)
Passive Skill 2: Glass Cannon
Passive Skill 3: Astral Presence
The Mechanics Of The Build
The most important skills, Magic Weapon and Energy Armor need to be up at all times. Once every minute or so both of them need to be refreshed as Magic Weapon lasts 5 minutes while Energy Armor is active only for 2. They are an essential part of the build and they need to be used all the time.
Since this is a kiter build, combat should be engaged by casting Blizzard over the packs of mobs and each a Venom Hydra on the way. Blizzard should be casted continuously to ensure that they move at a slower speed. The damage from the Hydra and the cold spell should eventually kill them.
These kind of tactics might require some practice to get used to. Also the absence of the Teleport skill might not be as per some player’s liking. If survivability is an issue, Magic Weapon can be replaced with Teleport for improved survivability which will become mandatory on Inferno.
