Diablo 3 Duping Methods Found and Patched.

Diablo 3 duping found

Though the always online policy of Diablo 3 was implemented to prevent players from using hacks and exploits, an activity which is so prevalent in Diablo 2, hackers were still able to find a way to item dupe.

Two duping methods in particular have recently been circulating around the Internet.

>The first method involves two players, where one of them would give crafting materials to the second player. The second player would then use these materials to craft items, while the first one causes their session to end abnormally. The first player’s session would then rollback, causing the game servers to think that they never traded the crafting materials to the second player, and they would find the crafting materials still in their possession.

However, the second player still gets to keep the new crafted item, hence they actually crafted a new item for free.

The second method is much simpler, which merely involves two players abusing the buyback tab in the trade window, but by using the same principle.

Blizzard recently released a new patch for Diablo 3, which they stated was intended to implement changes that were supposed to have been made by a previous patch.

However, players report that the above dupes no longer work after the patch, which means that Blizzard actually intended for it to ninja-fix the bugs.

Meanwhile, reports state that players have also ceased reporting about compromised accounts after the patch, though there are those who say that this is because Blizzard has threatened them with losing access to the real money auction house.

Blizzard will only be rolling back reported compromised accounts for a certain number of times, after which they will be banned from the real money auction house permanently.

This will discourage players from reporting any further hackings, thus causing these reports to cease.

If patch 1.0.2b really did absolve the problem then it obviously wasn’t because of consumer negligence. And what’s worse is that people are forced to be at risk because of this always-on nonsense.

We’ve yet to reach the point where the real-money auction house has been released and everything so far points to it being nothing but a danger zone for consumers. Full here
