Diablo 3 Monk
A wondering Diablo 3 Monk has seen the falling star making its way through the dark skies of Sanctuary. He has spent his entire life as a guardian of light and bringer of justice.
They have trained by the rules of the Sahptev faith to become the ultimate holy warriors.
Originating from the land of Ivgorod, our brave hero has spent his life time training and enduring harsh physical trials. He is now a master of unarmed combat and physical endurance. Once all this preparation, he was permitted leave the monastery.
His journey brought him to the town of Tristram to fight the incoming legions of demons and vanquish Diablo once and for all.
The Monk is a newly introduced class in the Diablo world. He is inspired from eastern cultures and shaolin disciplines, combining unarmed combat with agility and endurance.
As the second melee class, he also has abilities that allow him to become either a DPS or a tank class. His class specific resource is Spirit. It can be regenerated by various attacks or combos.

Monks who successfully channel their attacks into chains of hits can generate enough Spirit to render maintain the character engaged in never-ending encounters. Most of his offensive abilities do not have cooldowns.
Many skills of the Monk have an eastern influence. His look is a combination of medieval European monks with the saffron attire drawn from eastern cultures.
His tactical abilities can improve his survivability by providing invulnerability for certain periods of time, getting out of combat or increasing his dodge chances.

Due to the martial art style of combat, the Diablo 3 Monk uses specialized weaponry that resembles the ones used by the “Assassin” mixed with the “Paladin” from the previous installment of the game.
As a class specific, he is the only class that can use fist weapons and daibos. These selected pieces of weaponry have special magic properties that are meant to empower certain Monk abilities.
To complete his arsenal, the Monk also uses various Spirit Stones. These special head pieces hold great power that can only be used by this specific class.

In the Normal, Nightmare and Hell difficulties, the Diablo 3 Monk will not face many challenges.
Things change a bit in Inferno. He will have to give up to some of its damage dealing and enhancing abilities in favor of survival skills.
Dodge should be stacked as much as possible and resistances become critical. To make things a bit easier he should be paired with a ranged follower such as the Enchantress which can give him a nice armor boost.
In PvP the Monk becomes a target that is difficult to hit for both melee and ranged opponents. He is very agile and the fast paced combat style keeps him always moving. His avoidance abilities creates an even more difficult to hit target. Monks can travel very fast on the combat field, jumping from enemy to enemy.
Combined with some of his crowd control abilities, most opponents might be taken by surprise by a well prepared Monk.
A skilled player will be able to make his own combos and sequential moves to keep his Spirit regeneration at a sufficient rate to keep him engaged for extended periods of time.
It is the perfect class for players to enjoy making their way through thousands of demons with their bare fists.
