Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House Live in Americas!

Real Money Auction House now Available

As things move forward in the World of Sanctuary, Blizzard came with a nice surprise today. Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House Live in Americas!

There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. A lot of accounts have been banned today for hacking and hotfixes are in the works. However, Blizzard decided that it is time to introduce the Real Money Auction House.

There was no genuine indication of this release date but many were waiting for it with great enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, it has only been released for the Americas for the U.S Dollar, Australian Dollar and Mexican Peso. The European region will have to wait a little longer.

No official date was pronounced for the other two regions but the official post stated that they will hit the live servers soon.

Players of the Americas region will be able to choose from two payment options. The battle.net and PayPal the only options to monetize or buy items off the Real Money Auction House. The player will get to choose the payment method for each individual transaction and all the trades are not instant. They will need to go through a checking system first and wait for validation.

For the Auction House to go live, patch 1.0.2c has been applied but only on the Americas region. Players who want to check it out and maybe browse or list items, they can do so by logging into their accounts and go to the regular Auction House. In the top right corner a button will become available to enable the switching between the gold Auction House and the Real Money Auction House.

As a side note, players will have access only to real money transactions only for their home regions. European players will not be able to use the Americas Real Money Auction House and vice versa.

When selling or buying an item for the first time on the real-money auction house, please note that the in-game prompts you receive may in some cases not direct you to the appropriate destination web page to add an Authenticator or attach a PayPal account. We’ve highlighted these cases below and provided the appropriate locations to visit in order to attach an Authenticator for use with Battle.net Balance or to set up a PayPal account.

Players without an Authenticator who wish to use Battle.net Balance:

When attempting to sell an item on the real-money auction house for the first time, players who have not attached an Authenticator to their Battle.net account or set up PayPal for use with the real-money auction house will be automatically directed to the Battle.net website to set up a PayPal account (https://us.battle.net/account/d3/auction-house/landing.html).

If players prefer to use Battle.net Balance as the destination for their auction house proceeds (instead of PayPal), they will first need to attach a physical Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app to their Battle.net account. To attach an Authenticator to your Battle.net account, visit: https://us.battle.net/account/management/ebalance-purchase.html. You can also charge up your Battle.net Balance at this location.

Players with an Authenticator who wish to use PayPal:

Players who already have an Authenticator attached to their Battle.net account and wish to use PayPal as the destination for their auction house proceeds but have *not* yet set up PayPal specifically for use with the real-money auction house will not be automatically redirected to the PayPal setup page as they should be. Please note that players will also need to set up Battle.net SMS Protect on their Battle.net account in order to use PayPal with the real-money auction house.
