The Diablo 3 Witch Doctor left his tribes to join the ones that had the courage to stand against the forces of evil.
He is a spiritual warrior and great thing about this new character is the fact that he brings along various magical practices, which are associated with those of the voodoo culture.
He sees bodies as prisons of the souls that hide the true reality.
The material world is a mirage and only the spirit world represents the true shape of things. Thus, this “doctor” is not here to heal people but to harvest souls, hurl poisons, summon monsters, and cast magic spells.

In Diablo 3, the Witch Doctor is a new class that resembles the old Necromancer. It shares many similarities and common mechanics. It is also the only class in the game that uses mana as its main resource pool which represents a slow-regenerating resource.
It requires a skilled player to time his attacks and manage his resource pool.
His main attacks consist of poisoning its enemies and summoning powerful allies.
Additionally most of them hold synergies with one or more passive skills. He can cast a wide array of crowd control spells that can slow its opponents, poison them or make them run in fear. He is the master of undead and harvester of souls.
Diablo 3 Witch Doctor Spotlight!
The Witch Doctor does not enjoy close combat encounters and prefers to stay at a safe distance and have his minions cripple his opponents. He will usually hex his enemies causing them slow deaths and then resurrecting them as allies to spread plague and destruction.
Main abilities rely on fire and poison damage. He will spread poison clouds or cause corpses and allies to explode and clear his path.
The Diablo 3 Witch Doctor uses a limited number of weapons. Ceremonial daggers are part of his class specific arsenal. These daggers hold magic properties that can enhance his abilities and increase his damage.
In his off-hand, the Witch Doctor uses Mojos.
These war obtained therapies represent the skulls of his enemies and hold powerful magic enhancing properties.
This game presents the Witch Doctor as a fanatical character, who uses strange spells that belong to the dark magical world. He has the ability to control zombies and other dark creatures.
To complete his war arsenal, the Witch Doctor uses Voodoo masks to further increase his powers. They inspire fear to its enemies and only a powerful Doctor can use them. His entire arsenal is suited for one purpose: human sacrifice and demon slaying.
As a PvE class, the Diablo 3 Witch Doctor can survive in almost any situation. He will always use his abilities to keep enemies from reaching melee range.
By summoning undead allies he can keep his opponents busy while he casts curses and hexes upon them.
His spells are divided into three categories: Spirit Realm spells, Physical Realm spells and Support spells.
The summoned pets are more of a distraction. They keep the enemies away from him but his pets are not enough to kill its enemies.
The Witch Doctor will have to cast curses and spells to weaken his enemies and enhance the damage of his pets. Most Witch Doctor builds that are oriented towards pet enhancement still requires the character to use his curses.
In PvP, the Witch Doctor acts as a support class.
He will weaken his enemies but might not be able to kill them on his own. The character will have to lay curses that will enhance the damage of his allies.
Additional Witch Doctor gameplay
The Witch Doctor will also be able to cast crowd control abilities such as polimorphing his opponents making them unable to participate in the combat for a limited period of time.
His pets will not provide much aid in payer versus player situation. Opponents will either ignore the pets and attack him or kill the pets quickly as they have a moderate amount of life points.
The Witch Doctor Class is an entertaining class that can summon armies to fight for him. Resembling to the old Diablo 2 Necromancer, the Doctor is a standalone class that has its own individuality and key elements that separate him from this old character.
He is powerful enough on his own in PvE combat but in PvP he has to be paired with a high damage dealing class.
