Don’t Limit yourself to PC. Play Diablo 3 on Your iPad!

Diablo 3 on ipad

Diablo 3 is a PC exclusive game and it seems it will not be going to consoles any time soon.

Playing it on iPad seems even more farfetched. However, nobody said it is impossible. There is a way to play it on a tablet. In order to be able to enjoy the game on your iPad you will need a simple remote desktop connection app.

The iPad app store has quite a few of them but today we will have a look at the Splashtop’s Remote Desktop app. Its normal price is $20 but at the moment of writing this the application can be downloaded for $5.

Once you have purchased the app, you will have to install the desktop client and the iOS app. Once installed on the desktop, you will need to write down the security code as you will need it later.

Now take the iPad and connect it to your local network via wireless, assuming that you have a router installed to share your internet connection. After you connect to your wireless network, launch the app. Connect to your desktop using the security code and launch Diablo 3.

Additionally, you will need to configure the game to run on “Fullscreen Windowed” mode. Once done, you can start playing.

The game can be controlled only using the touchscreen eliminating the possibility to use the ingame keyboard shortcuts. If you need to chat with friends you can still use the keyboard by using the button in the right bottom corner.

If you really want a keyboard you can get one that is compatible with the iPad. There are a few models to choose from. If you really want to play it just like you would on a PC you can even get a mouse for your tablet.

Last but not least, do not expect incredible performance of the game on your iPad. It will run as smooth as your desktop can play the game but at a limited framerate.

The game is playable but the best part is that you can do it from almost everywhere without being forced to enjoy Diablo 3 only in front of your PC.

Diablo III is a PC and Mac exclusive, but thanks to remote desktop software, you can easily take the game with you on an iPad.

All you need to play Diablo III your the iPad is Splashtop’s Remote Desktop app, which is currently on sale for $5 (it usually costs $20), and the companion Splashtop Streamer desktop software. Splashtop mirrors the display of any Windows PC or Mac, and it’s one of the fastest remote desktops I’ve used. That makes it perfect for Diablo III, which only requires basic mouse controls to play. Full here.
