Epic Diablo 3 Gaming Rig. Built in Desk – L3p D3sk

There are a lot of interesting things on the internet but when it comes to amazing custom PC builds, very few manage to impress with their designs. On rare occasions we get to see a truly impressive custom build.
Recently, a megagames.com user published his own custom build that would make an awesome Diablo 3 battle station. The user is known as L3p and his project was named D3sk. His personal website contains a lot of pictures of this monster that would make any gamer jealous. The idea behind it is to make a desk that incorporates the entire unit of a PC, replacing the standard case.
L3p took a simple desk, added a support box and a giant glass over it so that you can view the entire setup. All his major components are cooled with a green liquid flowing through the entire surface with the aid of multiple pipes. It spreads a green neon light in the room. The project was started in 2010 and the sketch was done with the aid of a Google tool. When he had the plans on paper with the correct sizing and scale, L3p began to work and after 3 weeks his build was finished.
The hardware inside the desk is partially donated by sponsors. He used a first generation Intel Core i7 CPU, two nVidia GTX 580 cards in SLI mode, 6GB of RAM, 120 SSD, two power supplies to keep the system up and the cooling running. Having two video cards, L3p used a 27 inch monitor and two additional 17 Dell displays on the side in portrait mode. The complete system uses 17 fans and 6 liquid cooling pumps to reach the length of the entire table.
Creator: The pc-in-a-desk I finished last year named ‘L3p D3sk’. L3p is my online gaming nick for over 16 years now. The idea was just to make an all in one solution for my hobby in the living room
It’s a custom built desk out of aluminum and glass. Had it powdercoated when I thought it was completely finished.
Such a build must cost thousands of dollars but L3p had some sponsors to support some of the cost. However, he did not specify the total price tag for his amazing rig. There is a full list of components and parts used making it possible to approximate the cost. However the list is quite big but from what can be seen in the pictures, it was worth every penny. Every hardcore gamer would love to have such a system and some of them tried to contact the builder. It seems that he got himself involved into a similar project called Red Harbringer. It follows the same concept but with some newer components and with a major investment into computer parts.
The entire computer is right beneath the keyboard, completely visible and the huge display will make the entire experience unforgettable. Paired with a decent sound system, this would become the ultimate gaming desk. It would have been great it L3p published all the process of building so that others might attempt and create a similar rig. Without any doubt, it is one of the best custom builds the internet has seen in years. It is great to such enthusiasm for PC building in this era of gaming consoles.
