Hotfixes For August Published… Already

With just a few days into August and a new announcement listed the hotfixes for this month. The list is not very impressive but it is better than nothing. Blizzard seems to be working harder on its communication skills to cover for the silent treatment from the past few weeks. However, posting a list with just two fixes is not very impressive. Let us not forget that the AH hex editor hack is still working, ever since it was discovered.

Getting back to the announcement itself, Blizzard addressed the issue with rubberbanding that caused enormous latencies. This problem has been getting a bit frustrating, especially since the number of hardcore players has decreased a bit.

The second fix addressed some game and service crashes. No details or specifics were given but it’s good to know that they were fixed even if we do not know exactly what was broken in the first place.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed several cases of “rubberbanding” that could sometimes occur while playing under extremely high latency, when a character changed direction or movement speed, or when a character used certain movement-based abilities (like Tempest Rush or Whirlwind)
  • Fixed several game and service crashes
