Monk Exploding Palm is a Technique that unlocks at level 13. It costs 40 spirit and has no cooldown.
Using their knowledge of internal organs, monks know precisely which body parts to strike, often with explosive results.
Exploding Palm is the monk’s most powerful single-target skill, causing the enemy to bleed and dealing 220% of the monk’s weapon damage over three seconds.
If the enemy dies while bleeding, it will explode and deal 30% of its maximum life to the other enemies around it.

Because it has no cooldown, it is a spammable skill that can be used to deal with the tougher monsters the monk encounters in the field. When faced with a mob, Exploding Palm’s splash damage helps nicely with the Monk’s favorite multiple-target skill.

This was probably the coolest spell most people saw at Blizzcon, just for the massive blood explosions it created. It was magnificently overpowered, working like an early D2C version of Corpse Explosion. Triggering the third stage of this one, then beating that monster down with 100 Fists, was almost certain to clear any room, killing every monster anywhere near melee range.
Skill Runestones:
The Flesh is Weak – unlocks at level 18. This will cause the enemy to take an extra 12% damage for three seconds, making Exploding Palm deadlier.
Strong Spirit – unlocks at level 25. If the enemy explodes while bleeding, the monk gains 5 spirit for every enemy caught in the splash damage. This helps the Diablo 3 Monk mitigate spirit loss.
Creeping Demise – unlocks at level 36. Also causing the enemy’s moving speed to be reduced by 80%, this rune makes Exploding Palm an appealing alternative to Dashing Strike.
Impending Doom – unlocks at level 44. Increases the duration of Exploding Palm’s effects by 3 seconds, causing the skill to deal up to twice as much damage.
Essence Burn – unlocks at level 51. Causes the enemy to burn for 250% of the monk’s weapon damage for three seconds. If the enemy dies while burning, it will explode and burn the other enemies around it for three seconds, dealing 60% of the Monk’s weapon damage. And if those enemies explode, this effect will be repeated. Needless to say, this is a powerful rune that can devastate large mobs.
