Move Quickly at an Early Level with Monk Fleet Footed
Monk Fleet Footed is a passive skill that unlocks at level 10.
Fleet Footed increases the movement speed of the Monk by 10%.
As one of the first 2 passive skills, the beginning Monk might want to choose this over Resolve because it can help keep them out of harm’s way. The early Monk can worry about dealing more damage later when they can better withstand or escape attacks.
At first glance, this may not look very useful to Monks beyond the lower levels because there will be other passive skills later that may suit the fighting style of a Monk better.
A mid-level monk could opt to use Mantra of Evasion attached with the Wind Through the Reeds rune instead, though this will only increase the Monk’s speed by 5%.

However, the Diablo 3 Monk who needs to get close to the enemy then quickly move away after striking may find that the speed boost provided by Fleet Footed is of great help. This is true especially when the monk begins to encounter foes who tend to teleport often.
Alternatively you could use Dashing Strike attached with the Way of the Falling Star rune, which increases the movement speed of the Monk by 25% for three seconds after they strike an enemy.
This is a much bigger speed boost than that given by Fleet Footed, but you would need to use Dashing Strike first before the speed boost can take effect. Fleet Footed on the other hand is a permanent effect, does not cause spirit and is active even when there are no enemies that are conveniently close enough to strike.
Fleet Footed can also be a good option for player versus player. One of the Monk’s advantages is their speed and it is a good idea to use this asset to help the monk win their battle.
