If we were to browse the Blizzard forums to scout on how the players were preparing for Diablo 3 there is probably one other name that comes up almost as frequent as the title of the game itself. Mountain Dew has been associated with die-hard gamers. Actually it is a two way relationship.

The players seem to choose it over everything else and Mountain Dew keeps on creating promotional flavors for various games.

Their marketing strategies seem to appeal the gaming community. Let us not forget how amazing their commercial was for the World of Warcraft Game Fuel. It was pretty interesting to see a fight in a market over some bottles of Mountain Dew that were representing the Alliance and the Horde.

It was even present in the teaser of the World of Wacraft documentary called “The Raid”. We have also seen Mountain Dew in commercials addressed to Halo 3 players and Modern Warfare 3. Things have went so far that gamers started to post reviews of the various flavors available and why they like them.

Today, things have evolved in such a way, that all gamers drink Mountain Dew when they have to raid or play for multiple hours.

Gamers just stack up on all sorts of snacks and this particular drink. On the other hand, this relationship seems to be connected somehow with their extreme sports support and sponsorships in various competitions. Since then it has been associated with extreme athletes and let us not forget that gaming is also considered a sport.

Even if there is no commercial to tie the drink to Diablo 3, the community will carry on the legacy and have Mountain Dew present whenever they engage into an extended session of demon slaying.
