Witch Doctor Build Solo Inferno Patch 1.0.4 – Zombie Dog Army

Witch Doctor Build Solo Inferno Patch 1.0.4 – Zombie Dog Army

Level Required: 56

Build Thanks To Marbozir

Who doesn’t love to have a bunch of minions to fight for them? Even the Barbarians envy the Witch Doctors but this was not always the case. In this Witch Doctor Inferno build we will get to see just how good the new pets are. Look back prior to patch 1.0.4, they were almost useless. With the new buffed Zombie Dogs and Corpse Spiders, the class becomes much more fun. Pets are able to stay alive for reasonable periods of time, sustaining some nice hits and keeping away the mobs from the Witch Doctor. Also, Corpse Spiders now benefit from crit and can proc for life on hit and anything else, just like a normal attack. Before we discuss how this Witch Doctor build works, we will have to look at our options.

Here is a quick round up of the skills used for this build:

The Mechanics Of The Build

The idea behind it is very simple: keep the dogs fighting for you while you stay in a safe spot and throw Corpse Spiders. If you plan to use this Witch Doctor build to farm Inferno, keep in mind that the dogs are not invincible. They will die at some point and they have a cooldown. Try to always have some spare mana to summon them again or the monsters will start attacking you.

Notice that there is no Vision Quest in this build so mana regeneration is a bit slower. Since we are using Corpse Spiders already and if you really want to use Acid cloud more often, you can try to get Vision Quest instead of Pierce of Veil but you will lose 20% of your DPS.

Since the gameplay is pretty much obvious, we need to have a look at the key elements of the gear. Our main attack will also be a source of HP regen. Since Corpse Spiders are now affected by LoH, it is recommended to grab some piece of gear to have a decent amount of Life on Hit. Anything over 800 should be fine since the attack speed of these little creeps is fairly fast. Next, try some other procs such as stun or freeze on hit. Getting one or two pieces of gear that have such a stat should improve your survivability by keeping the monsters in one place. This particular mechanic works because of the Corpse Spider attack speed and ability to trigger such effects just like a normal hit. Keep one thing in mind. Corpse Spider can cause you to take damage from monsters with reflect damage. This is also a good enough reason to get a decent amount of LoH. Other than that, this Witch Doctor build is straight forward and nothing more needs to be said except for have fun and feel free to play with it and create your own variations.
