Witch Doctor Horrify is a Defensive skill that unlocks at level 8. It costs 37 mana and has a cooldown of 20 seconds.
Horrify is a standard skill that any aspiring battlefield controller should have.
It causes mobs within a 12 yard radius to run around in Fear, which makes it a great skill for getting out of sticky situations, as well as a good support skill for keeping melee allies from getting swarmed by hordes of enemies.

It also causes the witch doctor to wear a spectral mask, which adds a nice touch to the quirky personality that players have come to expect of them.

The Witch Doctor frightens away any enemies in his immediate vicinity. The spell is cast from the WD; it’s not something you can target at an enemy some distance away, which makes it more useful for personal defense, but useless in most tactical situations.
It shares a skill slot with Summon Zombie Dogs, but choosing Horrify over it should not be a tough decision when aiming for a controller build. Though Zombie Dogs is essentially the bread and butter of summoner builds, pure controllers are most effective in a party and should not be in need of minions. However, Zombie Dogs may trump Horrify if the Witch Doctor is attempting a hybrid summoner and controller build.

Skill Runes:
Phobia – unlocks at level 14
It increases the duration of the Fear effect by two seconds, buying the witch doctor and allies a bit more time.
Stalker – unlocks at level 21
Gives the witch doctor an extra 20% movement speed for four seconds, great when expecting sticky situations and the need to flee from them.
Face of Death – unlocks at level 34
Doubles the effect radius of Horrify for dealing with bigger mobs.
Frightening Aspect – unlocks at level 44
Gives the witch doctor an additional 100% armor for eight seconds, good when expecting desperate situations and escape is not possible without literally fighting a way out.
Ruthless Terror – unlocks at level 56
Gives 27 mana for every enemy that gets horrified, excellent end-game power-tripping skill where the witch doctor does not run out of mana.
