The Most Powerful Single Target Skill for Witch Doctor! Spirit Barrage!
Spirit Barrage is a Decay skill that unlocks at level 17.
It costs 108 mana and has no cooldown.
Dealing 190% of weapon damage, Spirit Barrage is the Witch Doctor’s most powerful single target skill. Because it has no cooldown, it is a spammable skill which is excellent for mopping up that stray monster or two who managed to survive the initial area of effect blast, or the enemy who is foolish enough to charge at the Witch Doctor one at a time.

..this ability was a bit slower to hit targets then firing the darts, but its major advantage was that once you targeted someone, the bolt would basically track the target until it hit them, so you didn’t really miss using this ability. The other major advantage was that you could shoot it through walls. It was nice to sit behind walls safely away from the battle and send these bolts out at enemies.
Watching these slick blue bolts of light hit the enemy may make it easy for the player to be tempted to go trigger-happy with this skill, but try not to get too excited because of its relatively high mana cost, players may want to watch their mana level or they may soon run out.
Skill Runes:
The Spirit is Willing – unlocks at level 23 This is a great rune for mitigating mana loss caused by spamming the skill because it gives the witch doctor 44 mana whenever Spirit Barrage hits an enemy.
Well of Souls – unlocks at level 32 Three more bolts of light seek out additional targets and deal 30% of the witch doctor’s weapon damage each, not too exciting in terms of massive damage but it does make for a pretty sight.
Phantasm – unlocks at level 37 It summons a spectre that lasts for five seconds and deals 45% of the witch doctor’s weapon damage to enemies within a ten yard radius, making Spirit Barrage a bit more massive damage worthy.
Phlebotomize – unlocks at level 44 Giving the witch doctor 3% of the damage dealt by Spirit Barrage as Life, this rune might be a good option if survivability becomes an issue.
Manitou – unlocks at level 59 Summons a spectre that lasts for 20 seconds and hovers above the witch doctor’s head, it deals 28% of the weapon damage to surrounding enemies and is pretty awesome looking with the bolts lashing out.
