Wizard Critical Mass Activates When you Take a Big Hit, Retaliate Faster!
Wizard Critical Mass is a passive skill making the Wizard overpowered.
During the beta phase of the game it was available at level 12. For the full version of the game, Critical mass increased its requirements to level 50.
The stronger the character gets, the more powerful this skill becomes.
Simply put, the skill reduces the cooldown of all spells by 1 second each time the Wizard deals a critical hit.
There are some disruptions going around this skill regarding its usefulness in PVE. There is one aspect that has been overlooked.
Arcane Power is a different type of resource. It has fixed maximum value. Its regeneration rate can be enhanced but the maximum value of Arcane Power can be raised only through a passive skill and not by much.
In all situations, the Diablo 3 Wizard will burn his Arcane Power at a certain point in sustained combat. Using the Wizard Critical Mass Skill will accelerate the burn of this resource rendering the character powerless until he regenerates it.PVE relies on continuous gameplay that can go for hours in particular areas.
Instead of using Critical Mass, damage increasing skills might seem more lucrative.
For PVP, this skill can be used as a means to inflict a damage burst. If the critical hit chance is high enough the Wizard will cast more spells in a lower timeframe inflicting more damage.
